when mine went wrong my car bogged down. could not accelerate much at all from idling, had to ride the clutch to get up to about 3k revs.
couldn't do more than 70mph in a 1.2 and engine management would come on and slow me down at 60mph in 5th and 40mph in 5th.
basically rendered my car useless, had to keep pulling over to the side of the road as when i pulled out of a road i couldn't pick up speed and had to rev the f*ck out of it to get the car going again.
also made a very weird noise from the exhaust. very deep and grunty.
