What would happen if I disconnected my AFM (air flow meter) then started up my car

I feel another AFM is f*cked or on the way out (my 2nd)... and I want to be sure it is the AFM causing the problems and nothing else... so surely if my AFM doesn't work atm, if I disconnect the wire that goes into it and start my car it'll be no different???

or will it

will I fuck up the car doing this?

It might be the air flow mass meter and it could still be different without it... some of the hotwires inside it might have got broken causing the air mass to be read wrong.

You might confuse the ecu calibration for a bit by running it without it.

hehe no chance I'm getting em from vaux... I bought my last one 2nd hand. But want to know if its actually fucked or not without going on a RR like I did last time - any way to check?

I'm curious to know how much calidus was paying for his since he sounds like he went through quite a few.

without AFM the management light will come on and the car will drive like an absoloute PIG, virtually undriveable with the revs being all over the place.
