http://www.topbuzz.co.uk/info/fault_codes/fault_codes.htm
hope that helps you just look at the pictures on the left and compare to what you have. if you go further down its got the actual codes for all the different ecu models just make sure you get the right picture and dont poke random wires in as i blew a few fuses when i did it wrong
http://www.topbuzz.co.uk/info/fault_codes/pic008.htm
thats what it was in mine just connect pins A & B and watch the engine management light. it flashes in sets of 3 the first set should be 1 flash and a gap then 4 flashes for code 14 it will do that 3 times ignore that one its the second code that you get that you pay attention to

I've just done the paperclip test and got the following results

14 coolant temp sensor...low voltage
34 manifold absolute pressure sensor....low voltage
Any ideas how to rectify these faults would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers.

The engine when cold starts ok, even though the ecu light stays on.
When the engine is warm it is difficult to start and is rough for a while, the ecu light staying on

hard to tell without lookin at it theres not much to the 1.2 8vs to go wrong check all the vacuum pipes around the carb anyone of them would mess it up really that would explain low manifold pressure. does it use a lot of fuel when its warm.

When the engine is warm and ticking over roughly, the exhaust fumes smell rich.
Where exactly is the map sensor situated ?
Could the sensor itself be faulty, or is it telling me there is a problem elsewhere. ?

sounds like the choke sticking on that would explain it being ok when cold but when its warm its putting too much fuel in thats y it would run bad and stink. as far as i know i dont think that there is a map sensor on it its more likely to be the lambda sensor in the exhaust

Definately got a map sensor, the fault code indicates it, and i've just found it in the Haynes manual, ( beside the radiator expansion tank ).
