got this sat off so want to clean the ICV because i thinks it causing my ecu to flash and it idles erratcly when its warm. does any one have any pictures/tips/things to look out for when cleaning it?? or should i buy a new one?

u have the velos inlet? if so then its easy to get to, its a small black cylinder attached to the throttle body with 2 screws, remove it and spray it with carb cleaner, just keep cleaning it till it looks all nice. then refit

is that all? i heard it was a bitch to do. well ill give it ago, whats the best cleaner to use? i aint got any so have to go to CAS and get some

it is a bitch with the standard inlet but ur throttle body has now been moved so its easy to get at. just get standard carb cleaner mate, comes in a spray can if im not mistaken!

Remove inlet manifold on take it off.

Its a bitch to get to without removing inlet manifold.

Sounds like your whole engine needs replacing.

Best change the gearbox too. And ECU, loom, etc.

I did mine with the Lexmaul inlet in place - removed the header tank though.

i have velos so had a look and its seems ok to get to, im going to do it this saturday.

joff -- my engine is fine and i have an X14XE sitting in my garage aswell.

Change the middle sloted rotating clip ring ball bearing and it'll work.
