I hav a 4 awg power cable going to my 1500max amp. Is it OK to put another small amp to power my 6x9s on the same power cable?

Will the cable be able to handle it or should I add another?

what is the RMS rating of the amp? If the added RMS of both the amps is less than the fuse can take then it will be fine.

not sure of the RMS at the momnet. Have to wail until I finish work to find out.

If the fuse in both amps is equal or less than the fuse for the power cable is should be ok then?

yeah, so long as the fuse in the power wire is the original one. Dont change it for a bigger one incase the wire cant cope with the load and it overheats. But yeah!

If added RMS is less than the fuse?

My amp is 450w max and my fuse on my power wire is 50w. 450w (50RMS) - are you saying 50wrms for a 50amp fuse or what? I don't get it

power = voltage x current.

So long as the total power of the output needed is less than 12 x the fuse rating, you will be okay.

I'm running a 4awg wire from the battery to a distribution then 2 8awg wires. One to each amp. Its been like that for over a year now, no probs.
