what does yours sound like when you stat it from cold ( in the morning or sumin)

mine taps really loudly for about 3seconds then it quietens down to normal. mine cars done 87K.... i thought it was the head getting lubed up with oil.

but i've been reading another post on noises and they are talking about big end bearings

mine does the same, 1.4 spi, 90k, but is fine after a few seconds

big end bearings will rattle when driving, it wont be smooth under load, not just when its started. You should be able to hear if the noise is coming from top or bottom of the engine.

thats just normal vauxhall. The hydralic lifters do this in higher mileage cars. No panic. Just keep the oil changes regular and it will be fine.

good stuff i change the oil every 5000 miles with vaux stuff.

doesnt have to be vauxhall stuff. Just a quality oil. Castrol magnatec is good.

not in my car its not, knocks like fuck, best oil ive ever used is vauxhall stuff. even my dad uses it in his a4.

mine sounds like a sack o shite, at 87k, mainly because the inlet tappets are fooked.....doh!!!
