I have a hectic time in work mate, so it's nice to come home to somewhere peaceful and dull, where I can relax without my retina's being burned by bright green walls.

It's a pale green it just photos more vivid than it actually is. I'm just not a grey person, I must apologise.

That's OK Barnes, as long as you're happy with everything in your house, that's all that matters.

Now Steve, is your old-king-in-law doing this work? Or is it your old-queen?

Bought a new drill today, works ok

Used it to put this up

Removed this step out of this room

Then set about filling, sanding and undercoating the skirting behind

Are you going to sell your house off when you have finished it for a bargain knocked down price?

Nice stuff, Steve. What's the idea behind that boxed in area then? Seems very odd. Is it to do with fire regs and windows or something?

I know what it is mate, but you can design so you don't need it, building inspectors probably visited and said they need it and that was the first they knew.

I'll design you a house, just let me know when and we will build it from wood with hammers

Hopefully it looks more like a house than that Corsa you designed that didn't look like a Corsa you posted the other day.

Some updates

Found a real life Cat

Carpet down in the two rooms we were doing the work under the floor in

Painted over the filling where we chiselled out the wall for the wires

Put these lights up, they are smaller versions of the one in the dining area

Replaced the hanging electric wires so they are a bit lower and put better bulbs in

New bed, to be delivered today

New microwave

Started bringing some furniture into the study, this was stuff my missus already had, not a massive fan of some of it

New shelf in the shower

TV mounted on the wall in the bedroom, need to put a high level socket in for this

Then set about installing the bluetooth sound for the upstairs area

First to cut a hole in the wall to fit a fused spur

Fused spur in

Then a hole to route the power from the spur

Then a hole cut on the other side of the wall for the bluetooth socket face

Ceiling hole cut for the speakers and wires ran

Patress in for the bluetooth socket

Speakers in

Bluetooth receiver screwed on

Can get to most upstairs areas from this position.

Sorry if any of this offends anyone

As I said before, this is a REALLY nice unit, but it just doesn't look right in a homely home.. Your place is too 'warm' for something so edgy and modern (god I sound like some designer faggot).

The fact the loft isnt in central line with the light and speaker?

I saw it too, but not much can do apart from move the loft hatch lol

The speaker and light are in the exact middle across ways of the ceiling in relation to the door frame

I think you need a contrasting laminate.. Something dark more of a grey tint to it
