Sonos are single units but they can be linked to one another.

Plus sonos don't do a bathroom/moisture resistant setup as of yet.

Dont forget to change your door locks if you have a cheapy euro lock installed.

Quality lock such as Avocet is so much better and takes five minutes to change yourself.

wanted the broadband stuff out the front entrance area, so set about making this comms area.

Going to use the utility cupboard and put a small comms cab in there

Bit of a faff getting to the nearest power socket, but managed to find a route through behind the stairs

The phone line again had to be pulled all the way to the loft then down to a socket.

Took the power from this socket, had to do it as a spur which I don't like to really, but would have been a bit of a mission to make it into the ring.

Boxes on the wall

Sockets on

Equipment plugged in and left like this until the cabinet comes to be mounted on the wall

I wanted to but that second hole i drilled because that first one was too close to a stud behind to get it round. Might have another go because i plan to take sockets off to run another cat 5 cable for a wifi AP upstairs

Also put together this dressing table from next

I dont need a full width 48 port switch in there lol

You can get get rack mount 330mm shelves and mini switches etc, which will be fine

Full width for sure. Mills Ltd do a full width black 6U cab for £40

Or if you're obsessed with half width they do 4 and 8U half width SoHo cabs:

http://www.millsltd.com/cabinets-and-enclosures/soho-cabinets-accessories/soho-cabinets.html

Everything that company does is fantastic quality.

It's not madness at all, it means I get to keep a lot of space in the utility cupboard and will house all the devices I will ever need.

What do i need to put in there? a small patch panel, a 12-16 port switch (of which I will only probably ever use about 8 ports).

A full width cabinet would be overkill, for a house running a couple of network sockets and APs.

I dont need failover cluster servers and rack mount UPS's.
