Same as mine - hope you went for 4 x 500mm rather than 2 x 1000mm if you're having drawers and put them on the outer units, the sliding doors are a pain in the dick otherwise.

Looks good. Do the spot lights need fire hoods or can you get away without on the LED ones?

The cost of some of the extras is huge like 125 for an outside tap which would take a builder all of 1 hour to install

Leds shouldn't get hot enough to cause a fire about 80 degrees but I've ordered some clips that guard them from insulation anyway

I agree, The IP rating malarkey is odd for LEDs, they do run extremely cool compared to halogens..

How comes they didn't come with guards in the first place? I bought some led downlighters on ebay and they had the shrouds already installed. Think they were about £11 each, including bulbs.

Yesterday had the day off so saw a few jobs done.

Biggest was addition of a high power socket and relocation of the tv socket to above the tv bracket.

Marked up and Chiselled the hole for the power, sods law right over a dab

After chiselling out the dab found the existing power trunk

Cut away the plastic trunk

Pulled the feed out a bit and cut it, then removed the rest joining the lower plug, fed a new longer piece down

Then cut the TV one and pulled back all the coax from the bottom socket

Patress in for the tv

Socket on

Wired in the newly laid extended power from high socket into the ring

Then went and pinched a bit of plasterboard out the builders skip to cement into the wall to reduce the amount of hole to fill

First plaster cover

Sand down and next layer

Whilst I had the plaster out I also removed the redundant tv socket in the downstairs living room and did the same plaster over to get rid of it, didnt get any pics though.

Whilst that was drying Installed the mast head amp in the loft, this made the signal go from 14/100 to 99/100 and found 100 more channels

Final sand on this and first coat paint

The two installed sockets

The finished article, with some new blind I put up too

You've made EXACTLY the same mistake I made with my wall mount.. I put the socket right up next to it thinking it would be tidy but annoyingly it makes it a royal pain in the arse to plug anything in as the cable fouls the rest of the bracket.

Yeah….I did this too, took some serious pressure to get the plug in as the moulded bit out the bottom of the plug didn't want to be bent.

Sonos is just a single unit isn't it? This is multiroom and all integrated too. And cheaper
