I'm 24 been renting since 20 have moved a fair bit but now I'm settled and like the house I think I'm gonna buy it as I think the landlord is thinking of selling from what the estate agents said so I should have first Dibbs I hope

I agree that the haldex on the R32 is pants. It really makes the car unsettled when you push on in the corners. The car starts to oversteer a bit then all of a sudden the rear wheels kick in and it slides way out. Take off is a pain as well. The fronts loose grip and then it bogs right down as the haldex then cuts the power to help the rears load up. Really not a fan of it. A haldex controller will help cure all this but it's a pretty expensive bit of kit.

With the standard haldex setup in the mk4 golf platform so s3 etc as soon as you start going sideways it cuts all power to the rear, makes them easy to spin, Ive done kt a few times,

They can be full 50:50 split but it's rare on a standard haldex controller (full bore launch/snow/ice/more powers)

It adjusts the split as it sees fit there's a valve in the rear diff controlling pressure to the clutch pack. Driving normally it's 100 percent fwd. I have some good links on how it works etc some where as I made my own arduino powered haldex controller.

Also quite a few cars use a simular system just like the evo 7-10 with the active diff. Works in exactly the same was but no one constantly slates it.

The VR6 engine in the R32 is prone to snapping its cam-chain and its a shit-head of a job to do..

I've found the opposite on my S3's and TT. Push it to far so the back and starts sliding and then you feel the rear kick in and give you traction.

No way a 4wd system in a pretty standard hatchback causes the car to spin.

This is probably why it's got such a (seemingly unfairly) bad name.

If you've spun the car you're driving well outside of your capabilities.
