still a R25? Me thinks not. I suggest you go take a visit to MG-rover in longbridge and see wherethe production line splits. Its after where the shell is welded together. The suspension is very much different. It'd have a standard 1.4 corsa round corners easy. Its stiffer and the roll bars are wider. K series engine's are extremely revvy, and they're easy to get to 125bhp with a few mods. MG would have you everytime. Lower down torque too, better for mid speed acceleration.

Get a Corsa GSi/Sport 1.6. Excellent engine, reasonable insurance, cheap to run, great performance, responds very well to mods...the list goes on, oh yeah, sod the k-series engine, 20XE conversion!!

You say sod the K-series engine, but the 1.8 version is used in the Elise and Exige (4.5seconds) so lotus must trust it. I know they weight fuck all but out of all the engines they could have chose to tune, they picked the K-series.

Just balancing the argument

Yeah but what good is it in a heavy car? Like you said its great for small lightweights like the elise as they can take advantage of the light engine and high power band, but its no use in a car that weighs nigh on 1000kg. A 20XE is a much better engine for the weight due to the very low torque power band.

Ok then, the 16XE unit can push 150bhp without effort and can take up to 220 easily.

true, vauxhall went to lotus funnily enough and wanted a sporty engine and they produced 150bhp from the 1.6 which vauxhall restricted and thats why its relatively easy to do

I know this thread is dead and buried but I have to say mattyboy that you are living in the year 1995 when rover stopped using honda engines, and at that year they we're only using their 1.6 units, zr engines are rev happy k series rover engines, all rovers engines apart from the diesels(which are peugeot) are made by rover so please don't insult us with the old made by honda comment, long gone honey

I aint looking for a fight, I just saw the wrong information and simply corrected it, if you saw something saying someone had a 2.5 v6 corsa and that was a production model I think you'de be quick enough to correct them
