I'm now looking at clip on pedals and shoes as my feet slip of mine and I like how you can pull up aswell, but I have no clue about these so need links please

These are what I have (not necessarily the cheapest links):

http://www.wiggle.co.uk/shimano-spd-sl-cleats-1/ (Different colours means varying degrees of float)

And it's known with Shimano shoes to always order a bigger size than you need. I'm a 9 (44) and had to order a 45 in those shoes for them to fit me.

Although not very scene with the roadies I have a set of half and half pedals on my road bike. One side is SPD the other is like a normal pedal. Reason being you don't always want the full shebang on, sometimes you just want to chuck a pair of trainers on and go for a ride.

So say I bout the pedels(top link) does the bit that screws on the shoe not come with them,as it says cleats included.
Or are the(seconded link) the bits that clip in,what degrees of float do you recommend.
Also will any shoes work with the above set up

Didn't realise they came with cleats. The second link is cleats, but as those pedals come with some you wouldn't need to buy them separately. I have 2° float cleats and they give plenty of movement, the 6° ones are apparently good for beginners.

Those are the shoes I have, not ones you have to get. If you buy those pedals, they work with SPD SL cleats, so you want to buy shoes that are SPD SL compatible. Most shoes are, and it will say in any advert if they are.

Have't been on a proper ride in ages. Stopped a couple of times and still managed it in about 1.30hrs. Just enough time to have a shower and watch the football now

Got 13 miles into my ride today and realised I had no brakes. Had worn the pads through after taking nick and his mates round swinley 2 weeks ago. I knew the swinley sand was bad but they had loads of life left when I last checked. So they have lasted a grand total of 6 months due to the shitty sandy ground around here. So just ordered some new ones from superstar.
