Hi all,

Noticed the other day that the o/s/f wheel is wonky.

Im guessing at first glance that the camber can be adjusted slightly by
making an adjustment where the lower arm meets the hub???

Car is lowered on yellow shocks with red springs (brand unknown at moment).

Thanks in advance

If your camber is out on standard struts with no camber adjustment then your top mount is probably screwed. Yes you can adjust camber on the lower mounting but only after you have filed out the top hole (elongate it dont make it bigger). IIRC eibach do some camber adjusting bolts of some kind.

Yellow shocks will be something like an Apex kit. Could be top mounts, camber is out on my lowered corsa on both front wheels.

If it's just the one side then it can't be purely because it's lowered, it would be both sides in that case.

If you guys are getting some negative camber from lowered springs that's ok, obviously if you're getting positive camber that isn't ok.

Best camber setup is 1 - 1.5 degrees negative camber with 1 degree toe-out on the front.

Had the car on a ramp at local garage who checked all fixings etc.
Also checked ref points to make sure arms & shocks are level & also
checked inner wings for signs of accident damage but nothing found.

Garage have suggested that stub axle maybe bent so currently
seeking a replacement.

Anyone else had a bent axle?

Thanks for all your assistance.

also adjusment is made where the shock meet the hub on top bolt, not where the lower arm meets the hub

Stub axle is where the bearing fits over, 'stub' as in short or stubby, because it's not a 'full length' axle like you'd get on the back of a RWD car for example.

Have never heard of a stub being bent, that would take some doing. Is the strut body itself bent?

In fact have you checked the struts where they bolt on the the hub? Are they standard or are have they been messed with? If like I mentioned above someone has filed out the hole to alter the camber then it could have slipped and be giving too much. Also someone may have used the eibach camber adjusters which go in your top mounting.

The only way you're going to solve this is take the strut off, just a 10 minute job.

Thanks for the reply & yes, front offside.

I know its not a full axle but meant the part that the hub/disc bolts to.

I am going to remove the shocks & check to see if they are bent but on first
inspection, all bolts are non adjustable & were all tight/present.

The strut tops also look standard but will have another look when shock has been
removed.

If all is as it should be then im guessing the front of the car is twisted somehow

before u remove the shocks, have a look when u open the bonnet if the circle (rubber one) stays on the middle of the car body circle where the strut r bolted with the nuts

make sure u do it before u take it off as it might be just a top mount mate, its important , it could be easy fix, u dont need to take apart everything as it could be nightnare lool also check lower arms and tie bars mate , if one of them is a little bit forward it could be not central both sides ??? so just make sure u checked me all .. anyway good luck mate @ but think logic , its not many things that can do wrong camber, tie bars, shocks, top mounts, ball joints and lower arms ? ) good luck mate
