Small hacksaw and cut the lip off one side then hit the center of the side you cut off with a hammer and it will come out,may take a couple hard hits tho

There's like a metal ring on both sides around then there's a rubber bit with a tube through the middle! :/

petrol and set fire to it. bit brutal but it works mate or a piece of threaded bar with a nut on the end and tighten it up until it pulls the bush out. not sure what you mean about the two metal rings tho they should be just washers that will come off when you remove the tie bar

already explained mate either a threaded bar with a large socket or nut or something on one end and the other end in a vice and wind it down until it forces the bush through or petrol and set it alight or blow torch as stu says. Not sure why you are still struggling

See how there's like a metal edge on the bracket, like a metal ring around the bush, does that come out? Or does the socket just rest on the rubber or on the metal ring bit. lol

On the thin metal ring on the outer side of the rubber, burn the rubber out then you can cut it from the inside and it will fall out or socket and press it out as mentioned.

It's rubber, so a hammer alone isn't going to
Do much.

Put something on metal section and either using a vice to squash out out, or hit something such as metal bar chisel etc into it,

Is this the right way for the new bushes? As one is thicker.

Or is it the opposite way around?

The new ones are pre 97. I was advised the post 97s are best left alone. Only Powerflex make them but because of how they're fitted it's impossible to not weaken the mount. Best options are leaving them alone or buying fresh mounts from Vaux (about 90 pet side iirc)
