Same as above..I have a 96 Corsa and a 99 Corsa and changed the bushes in both. The 96 one was an easy enough job, beat the old one out and put the new one in (two halfs) The 99 model is different as you havealready found out. A garage used a hydraulic press to push them out but bent the bracket so I had to get new brackets from Vauxhall and they come with bushes fitted. I just sold the Powerflex bushes and I had heard horror stories anyway about them slipping out of the bracket. I can't see in the first place how anyone got them in but if they did I couldn't see how they were ever going to stay in. Just never looked like it could be a safe fit.

I have a metal plate at the other side so the bushes can't be pulled out if you get me

did you fit pre 97 bushes into post 97 tie bars?

Hope this helps I had same problem on mine had to push the bearing out using a shop press bench and got a powerflex bush for post 97 and was crap. you can use a complete mount with poly bushes from a post 97.



you can see from the picture above that the bush was moving inside the bracket see edges of the bush
