£65k is the cheapest i've seen around here and it's a studio flat so living room and bedroom combined. It looks nice, but that's only because it's just been refitted after being flooded.
It's next to a river which bursts it's banks a lot so only a fool would buy somewhere like that

Try Workington, Whitehaven and Maryport. They are probably as cheap. Proper inbred territory over there

I had a brand new Audi A3 S-line at the time and to be fair it didn't get damaged even though it was left out in the street every night. I couldn't go out round town drinking though as people would kick off at anyone that wasn't from round there

I assume in the BTL the rent basically pays for the mortgage. Or do you still have to contribute a small amount?

Both my and my missus' BTL mortgages are interest only. The rental return is approximately 4x the interest. When tenants are in the flats, we overpay our mortgages to pay off the capital. If they're not rented, then we use the contingency amount saved to one side and as of now, we haven't had to use any of or own funds to pay for anything bar the initial deposits and initial maintenance. Since first renting, they've not impacted on our personal incomes at all including maintenance, mortgage or tax.

If you want slightly more expensive, head to Truro!
