the 1600 is a good engine as long as you can get a goodun cos generally these have been thrashed more than the 1400 (although the 1600 can take more) but apparently they do have a tendancy to drink oil, but the swap for a 1600 should be easy enough as long as you have all the parts as the corsa could have this motor in off the factory line

1600 has more torque, more power. 1.4 16v is good (know someone with Throttle bodies running 165bhp), but the 1.6 is better.

So is it relatively straight forward to fit the 1.6 into the corsa?
I know breakes and suspension will need changing but what about engine mounts etc?
Is it a tricky job??

Where is the best place to get the engines from ?

Scrappy or someone on here or something ? AND... what needs to be changed when transplanting it in place of the old engine ?

the problem with doing either a 1.4 or 1.6 conversion is that PVD dont do fitting kits for them

ull need engine, loom, ecu, uprated brakes, uprated suspension

speak to beardy cos hes done them before i belive

its alot harder than just planting the engine in...mounts and shafts need changing aswell...av been lookin for an engine (decent)for sumtime now and am still looking...needs ecu and loom intact aswell most scrappies just take the block out...ring around and u'll c wot i mean

a will post loads of no.'s up if ya want when av got more time...

Some times i wonder what planet people are on when they think its as simple as Dropping the new engine in and screwing a few things down. Do they ever look under a bonnet???

Whatever you think this is gonna cost my friend had on another £500 for bull shit costs.

However going from a 1.0 to a 2.0 is not the most practical of ideas.

because the 2.0 produces 3 times more power and more inportantly torque than the car was designed to take!

How can you say the 1.6 is much better than the 1.4?

Obviously it is more powerfully because it has a bigger displacement.

They are identical engines apart from the piston size.

How can the 1.6 take more Mikorsa16v?
