Righty so been havin a little play yesterday/today, had to move the car from where it was so in order to do so i needed to get it back together, which meant, ball joints on, bleed brakes, fill with gearbox oil and try and align tracking (by eye)!! Just so I could drive it to its new home which proved to be a pig as it was still toeing in massively even though I'd chopped 15mm off the track rods, problem was that the thread on which the rod ends screwed to weren't long enough I'm guessing the motor factors gave me the wrong rods previously so rather than get the right rods and be on the limit I thought I'd get a tap and die kit off a mate and make the threads longer..

Thread before

During

And extended

That seemed to sortin, I now have plenty of adjustment both ways which is good.

Ball joints on..

Filled the new box up with oil, made myself a lil filler whilst I had a fag hahaha, seemed to work quite well lol.

All back on the deck ready to rock

Drove it for 10-12 miles to its new destination and am mega happy with new gearbox, and even though it massively needs the geometry setting up I can feel a difference with the new arms so should be pretty epic once that's done!!

Then arrived at new destination (my brothers)

Then I cracked on with the headlight duct..

Got it in high build primer to try and hide a few imperfections

Still a few sight a bit more filler in it..

Sanded that back nice and smooth then got some colour on it..

Wet sanded that after a few coats of course

Then the lacquer..

Really am pleased how its come out, can't wait to fit it tomoz and see what it looks like, will upload pic of that tomoz

The duct hose was just a temp measure, lol it's extract fan stuff just to give me an idea, looks awesome imo and should work very well!!

Watcha think?

Yer it's only cos iv changed everything about so much that they were a twat to fit mate otherwise I believe it's just a case of drilling knuckles and cutting 15mm of thread off the rods!!

Had a few parcels turn up yesterday

Avo gtz full coilover kit, look a good bit of kit.

Proper bit of ducting for the air intake..

And some new polys for the rear beam..

Had yesterday off work so thought I'd take the beam off as it was rotten, clean it up and give it a lick of paint ready for polybushs and new coilies..

Stripped it down

Cut and knocked the old bush's out

Cleaned it up with a flappy wheel and wire wheel

And painted

Did aim to get up and have a day on it today undersealing it but went out on the piss for first time in a long time and man am I feeling it today so will have a play tomoz instead..

Had a day off today so thought I'd go over the garage and do what I was gonna do on Saturday/Sunday and fully underseal the car whilst I had the beam etc off, so I whipped the exhaust off and then thought sod it il take the tank out as well as it had a small leak from where I stupidly drilled through the top when i was doin my braided brake lines :face::lmao: and it was pretty rotten anyway so got a new one.

So out came the tank..

And the hole

Now the exhaust, tank and beam etc washout the way I could get on with undersealing..

Only before pics I got..

As you can see it was not a pretty site, so treated all the rusty areas with krust after a little cleaning up and started sealing..

Looks a whole lot better under there now but don't want to do that job again in a hurry :lmao:

Picked up a new tank from euro car parts, vaux wanted over £600 for a tank so thought sod that and got a pattern!!

Whilst I was there I picked up some new rear bearings as they basically fell apart when I removed the drums..

Removed the pump etc from old tank

Then I set about cleaning all the shitty grease on the new tank ready for painting and then sprayed with Hammerite smooth silver..

Will get it all back together on Saturday :thumb:
