Car is currently broken

Came home from work from Friday and my clutch pedal hit the floor, hoped it was the master cylinder (£70 fix) but sadly the tell tale sign of a leaky box was there yesterday so it's the clutch slave cylinder.

I had to have this done on my first S3 and it cost £990 by the end of it

My mate very kindly offered to help (pretty much do all the work tbh) me do it so now the car is semi stripped but we had to stop today as we need a very long 1/4 extension for the final transfer box bolt.

Hopefully tomorrow night the box will be off, parts will be swapped out and box will be back on....

Not a fun job

Anymore damage than expected and you need a box let me know, I have one here for sale if your interested, it has been split and checked, selector forks and gears in good condition.

Tbf it's not been to bad, done 18k in it and this is the first thing that has actually stopped me driving it, knew it would happen one day but still a twat of a fault !

You fitting an uprated clutch etc while your there? I remember pricing up a single mass flywheel and stronger plate on my VRS for just £250. With you having the remap an all.....

No mate, buying a house in the coming months so all money is going in to that pot really (mods have been done on a sell/buy basis) so just fixing the broken bits, not uprating/ changing anything that isn't broken.

In ideal world would be uprating the clutch etc but its all big £££

Box came off today, new bits fitted and put back on, should be back on the road this weekend



New CV boot fitted as the old one was split



Transfer box removed



New ARB and bushes as the old one was rotted and wouldn't lock in place.



Box getting a quick clean up

Back on the road with a nice smooth clutch now

Only annoyance is having to get the bloody tracking done again

Might lower it some more beforehand

Found myself a much better condition set of 19's and all with good tyres so sold the old ones on for a small profit and picked up these.

They don't look much right now tbh but compared to a pic with the 18's you can see it's more rim and less tyre

Once they get chromed up and I give it a bit more lowness it should be pretty cool

Managed to get my seized adjuster moving slightly today so I was able to get my coilovers level.

Really need to remove it and try soaking in coke overnight which is apparently meant to work really well!

Bit more fixing up today before we get in to winter.

About 6 months ago one of my rear number plate lights fell off so I had tape covering it since then and the other side didn't work. Bought two new ones and cleaned up around it today...

Promised myself no more spending on the car this year now! Still need to make a decision of wheels for next year though.....keep changing my mind

Nothing interesting, just gave it another clean. Been doing a few jobs recently, replaced another Inner CV boot last week.

Still has an occasional knock on the front, put it down to running it pretty low though. Will investigate again next year when it's warm again

Swaying towards getting some wheels with a bit of dish next year, so far swaying towards LM's, nothing radical but it's a good look

Came with the wheels mate and I'm not replacing four as new 19" tyres

Car has an easy life, my day's of pushing them to the limit are well behind me.
