Didn't trulli get arrested for slicing the manager or force India?

First time since 1969 there won't be an Italian driver

Probably for the best though.

No much appears to be happening with HRT and Marussia though

Edit - Apparently what 'Maldonado' had to pay for his seat at Williams

Wow.

So, if say i was some crazy billionaire and i went up to a team like Williams and said "Hai, i want to drive in F1, heres £100m" Would they take me on, or do you have to have some form of qualifications?

I doubt you could with Williams but HRT/Marussia probably wouldn't bat an eyelid Obviously you need to have a Super Licence (£100-200k) and to get that you'd have had to compete in lower Formula's or Indycar, either winning the WDC or being with X number of places of the WDC.

Easy, I'll pay Paul J to coach me. Just need to be a billionaire now. Again PaulJ should come in handy.

I don't think that is what Maldonado had to pay. It's the sponsorship deal that PDVSA had agreed with Williams for the amount of advertising exposure they get on the car. That sum of money about a third of a mid running team's budget for a season though

Just make sure his dad is no where near....

Rob - Hence why I single quoted Maldonado's named He's essentially backed by PDVSA, and although the £30m is sponsorship money, in-directly it has paid for Maldonado's seat at Williams. Similar to why you've got Karthikeyan in F1 who is a pretty poor driver in comparison to drivers like Heidfeld, but Tata is picking up his HRT tab.
I've no idea if the invoice is fake or not (was posted on twitter), but it's been rumoured (sure i remember Brundle mentioning it) that paid-drivers spend £10-15m getting seats so again it could be legit.

W03 video to go with the above - HERE

It looks pretty squared that step, almost Ferrari-esque - ugly either way. Although apparently (no doubt a BS report) Newey is a bit wary of Mercedes delay tactics, PitPass Article, in unrevealing the car. Let's hope they have something brilliant otherwise they'll continue to be stuck below the top 3 like they have for the past 2 years.

Helmet cams like that are a MUST for the live TV coverage. Imagine the head movement in first corner dives and braking zones, would be awesome.

Hmm may put a few ££ down on Hamilton for WDC this year, McLaren is looking good on the long runs - and they've done plenty of mileage this week so far which suggests they're happy with their baseline and they're really absorbing lots of data.

Still yet to see RBR or others really pushing long stints and unless McLaren have the pace then it doesn't really matter if they can do long stints as they could still be 15/20secs down the road from the leader(s).

Both SV and LH did a race sim yesterday and laptimes and tyre drop off between the two cars were very similar.

The McLaren is reported to be braking later and getting on the gas sooner - and has better trap speed after a long high speed corner. (this was RB's strength last year)

We won't see any quali sims until Austrailia Q3 I guess, so raw pace will never be predictable - but the McLaren is looking competetive (remember last years test to compare?) and McLaren have always been one of the best in-season developers.

You can't really do any direct comparisons, especially last year when McLaren had serious issues with their funky 'octopus' exhaust. Plus RBR wasn't exactly lighting up the lap times in last years testing, yet they certainly had the best car of the season. So as usual there will be a lot of 'sand-bagging' from most teams until Q3 in Melbourne.

Nice Don't know if I'll be able to afford the GP so might go to the BTCC or something instead.
