i would too if i wanted a diesel purely for speed but i didn't go down that route as i wouldn't want a stripped out car for every day use...

because it's a retro-fittable optional extra and reversing with limo tints on the rear is really annoying. they weigh next to nothing, why does it matter?

by track prepared i mean it will handle track days, a lot of modified cars may be quick but won't last long on a track. there's so many local people i know that have quicker cars but if they were to go on a track they'd go off the track on the first corner due to no brakes/handling mods or their car wouldn't take the abuse/heat.

i dont think its that specced maybe for a scene wiesel.

[Edited on 13-12-2011 by Steve]

as i've said many times i get charged next to fuck all labour. and why do you think they're goons? have you had a personal experience with them? hardly fairly to slate a company publicly if you haven't...

if it wasn't thrashed then why would it need all the supporting mods? every single time anything has failed it's been uprated.

Wait a minute...

You would rather a diesel FWD car than a N/A 340bhp RWD car thats better looking, better made, better balanced and doesnt need 23k spent on it to make it "good" (With rear parking sensors)

i go back to my original statement that the OP first post says he wants something faster more capable etc, then when it comes to selling his old one he wont sell it at the price that its worth so the thread is completely pointless.

I think it was more to do with the cars could be had for 20k in the specifications he wanted, everyone else chose to talk about whether his car was worth 10k

well i know my car isn't worth £20k to others but to me because i've put the money into it i see it as more than £20k and still drive it on the limit with 3rd party only insurance, so tbh yeah i would

How have you got the Fabia insured with all mods declared TPFT? I thought cars over £5k had to be Fully Comp? Even as standard your car must be worth £5k?

He's not even TPFT, 3rd party only.

That alone has got to be a wind up, or he has more money than sense.

If you are only 3rd Party on the Fabia why have you spent so much money on it? Don't get me wrong it's a decent spec but if you have a crash your insurance won't pay out for your car or mods so you'd lose thousands of pounds worth of modifications!

To be honest if you have some money laying around I'd get your insurance up to fully comp first!

You need to see what you can actually afford to insure and run before you say you want a higher powered car. It's easy when thinking about about it but much harder in reality. it seems like you do a lot of miles a year, with a big power turbo it would cripple your wallet.

How old are you?
Do you have any points?
Do you have any claims/crashes?
What area postcode do you live in?
What cars do you really like?

If you have been offered £10k for the Fabia you need to get it sold ASAP, as many have said the value will only drop. Yes it's been a good car to you, you've driven it very hard and it's served it purpose but it obviously time to move on. You will more than likely never get as good an offer (if genuine) again.

Summary, if you want to sell it, take the £10k and quickly.

If you actually like the car, keep it. You don't need to justify to us that you like the car or it's a good spec, that is up to you who owns it and the guy who offered you £10k.

Wisdom in the thread, which has neither of those points of view says take the money and run. You may feel differently.
