Small update as I'm on inlets and sumps duty at the minute but managed to re mount the bias valve to the turret and fitted the quaife gear knob which looks loads better than the black one

Thought you'd of put the bias valve just behind the drivers seat on your left! then you could
of adjusted it with the harnesses on whilst on track. Were it is there, you'll need to lean over
quite far.
Gear stick looks very "90's touring car" before they changed to sequential on the column

I can reach it with harnesses fully done up, must look further away than it is mate cause it's sat higher it's not hard to reach.

That's the look I was hoping for tbh I loved and grew up with 90's btcc cars

Me too mate! Gear knob is identical to Will Hoy's M3 Listerine sponsored Vick Lee Motorsport BMW.
remember it well cos he missed a gear at Donington and lost the race

Been finishing off the shifter and ended up just biting the bullet and making a 3mm plate for the tunnel just to eliminate any flex (que Craig.S smug comment :lol


Also added bottom braces between the alloy turret to stop any side ways movement from that as well, it's now solid, I also made the bulkhead hole in the metal slightly larger as it was fouling slightly when trying to select reverse, now all sorted and I'm happy with it, it has a nice positive shift, unfortunately I've not had chance to test drive it yet as it's pissing it down and my battery is flat and the jump packs in the other workshop.

While I had the dash apart I thought as well make a new pod for the gauges I bought about a year and a half ago to go in! Quick measure up and came up with this


And had a carbon panel spare so laid it over the top, just need to wire/plump them in and then I can remove the old oil pressure gauge at the bottom of the picture.

Been playing with the geometry again, found out we had the caster kit for the supertracker after all so set the camber and tracking, camber has been set to -2.8 degrees.

I then measured the caster and managed to get 8 degrees which was my aim hence modifying therose jointed tie bars. On turn in I get:

Really happy with the results car feels much more positive and turn in is very responsive so job well done.

Need to now do the rear camber and toe and that's it all done ready for Bedford handling wise.

Been plumbing in the new gauges, had to make up a boss to weld onto the stainless water pipe extension, taped a bit of pipe out, welded on a washer and job done

Final sensor fitted, had to make a boss up again as the one that came with it didn't fit


Also shortened the throttle cable as it was way too long and with the bends in it would occasionally stick slightly so needed sorting


And also treated myself to some new boots and gloves as my olds ones have had better days

Cut it length, drilled the two holes slightly in the plastic stopper and pulled off, cut end ball off and drilled remaining wire out, re assembled and then crimp the end in the vice and pinch onto wire then just ran a bit of solder over the top but tbh that's not needed and the wire doesn't take the solder either.

Made a start on fitting the new forge intercooler, cut the 2.5" pipes offa d enlarged the hole to 3" on looking inside you can clearly see the quality of the forge core

Bumper trimmed and slotted in place, just need to re make the top and bottom brackets and weld the sharpe 90 degree bends on


Can clearly see the bonnet paint damage where the paint has flaked off due to the heat cycles

Nah it's a track car, will be getting a full re spray once the wide kit goes on anyway.

Yeah looks loads better than the wonky old one

Finished the intercooler off, welded the new 3" ends on and made a swaging tool to swage the ends


Made some new top and bottom mounts and a quick blast of paint


All fitted and piped up


New bay shot


Also bought a grp roof scoop


Will have to sit back a bit as the metal bracing would be in the way of the vents


Won't be fitted until the GRP roof skin is fitted

Yeah that's from the previous intercooler set up

But once the grp bumper goes on I can re cut to suit this so no biggy really

Final bits of track day prep done, oil filter change, bumper trimmed for caster and tracking done.

Also fitted the Omex shift light done it at the top of the cowling which is slightly above the wheel top and is in my direct line of view

Also my vents have turned up for the roof scoop


Gonna load the trailer and get the spares ready tomorrow and I'm all done! Feels weird as I'm normally doing loads of things last minute so feels like I've forgot something
