Small boring update:

Got some new tyres as old ones where shot.

Went with same as the rears, not the most amazing tyre but not bad at all and don't feel like a budget tyre. Really quiet and a nice wet/dry grip balance.

Standard obligatory wheel less shot:

Pillar less coupe driving as I can't remove hardtop till my roof is fixed

I've run those Hankooks on my VXR, found them to be alright. A better mid-range offering for sure.

Both tyres at the front where cheaper by a considerable amount than one E46 M3 tyre FYI!

So I bought an Xbox power pack second hand, made myself my own 12v power pack so I can bench test my xenons.

Here is the machine:

Then I hooked it up quickly this morning to test to see if it works.

Boom!

Initial fire up is quite blue:

These where all taken on an iPhone so look crap. It was far more blue in real life.

Then after a few seconds of heat, bright bright bright white light

Thanks chaps!

Wanted to sort the rotational adjustment before I placed it on the car so I can minimise the work taking the lights in and out of the vehicle.

Can't really make it out in the photo but looks like it is a few degree's out and needs to be rotated left slightly. Once I have had a fiddle and its level. I will place them on the car, make final adjustments and glue the adjusters in place.

Jamie sorted my roof out today with a little bit of help from the Internet. Re adjusted too to make it sit betterp

However they body shop have fucked about with the roof obviously trying to get it to work. The front trim peice is almost totally destroyed and now doesn't fit. It's missing a peice, then the two clips for motors underneath are damaged as well. Roof seems to sit very high on passenger side when folding away which thus means returning to getting out and assisting it to shut. I really wish I bought a coupe! Roof has never worked right in two years and this is my second one!!

Anyhow. Had it since Jan and never driven it with the roof down due to various problems so today I caught the last 5minutes of sun and had a rather wobbly drive. Deffo needs top mounts and I am worried my tricking wishbones have worn again

Looks ok though

Pictures are crap I apologise but there was fading light and only an iPhone to hand!

Alas, it wasnt all good news.

Whilst manoeuvring the hard top off, my dad lost grip and dropped it

Get a cotton bud. Touch it up in layers. Let dry between each layer. Presume its Basecoat. So either go somewhere that can touch it up for you with 2k lacquer and when dry could flat and polish or just leave it.

Been tinkering with lights. Thought I would trial fit.

Turns out anytime I do anything I damage the car there's a huge gouge in the paint under the indicator then to make matters worse upon installing a lamp, the plastic corner rubbed the edge of the wing tip and took some paint off

Destined to never have a perfect car!

Oh well on to update:

Trial fitted the xenons today. They fit well but I am not blown away with how it looks. Wanna say the angle looks off? I dunno. You see.

So made passenger one up:

Then had to make a spade connector smaller lol

Mocked up a 9006 connector for the relay trigger:

Boom!

Not sure on looks:

Sorted where the relay harness will run to and from. Need to re earth the projector then install. Hoping to do this to tomorrow!
