Me and may dad built a bulsa wood RC trainer plane when I was a kid in the early 90's, it had a petrol engine and all of the radio gear was futuba analogue stuff.

A few of my mates have been flying for the last year or so and I went out with them to see what its all about and oh my god how things have changed! The controllers are all digital and the planes them selves have become the cheapest bit!

Not sure if I've been living under a rock or what?!? But theres even simulator software that you can plug your controller into your PC and use so you can get used to flying without smashing up a real plane! I had to get me a bit of that action so I've bought one and I have been playing on it all night, its bloody brilliant!

I owned a few planes in the past, good fun when the weathers nice but fooking expensive when you plant one in a tree

Some of the mini-jets are amazing, but also ££££s

That jet engine is over £2K! Must be easier to see than on video, but looks impossible, something so small at that speed

Mr walby can help, although id really suggust some traning davey, when you can fly with an instructor who holds a "master" transmitter, so can take over if you get into trouble
