Little update, just ordered a 19row oil cooler, try and get the 130deg temps I saw at Rockingham down to nearer 100deg.

At the weekend I had it on the strip at Santa Pod, best time was 15.0sec, terminal of 90mph. Best 60ft time was 2.24sec. Happy with the times

As I am bored thought I would do an upto date spec list

Engine;

TSR 4-1 S/S manifold inc de cat
Jetex 2.5" system

Suspension;

Gaz GHA coilovers, with Poly rear top mounts
Eibach Mk3 Golf rear ARB
20mm rear spacers
Custom rear strut brace

Brakes and Wheels;

Wilwood Midilite 4pot calipers on the front
280 drilled and grooved discs with Ferodo DS2500 pads
Mk4 Ibiza rear calipers
Standard discs and pads on rear
Braided flexi lines
Motorex Dot5 fluid
Team dynamics Pro Race 1.2 in 15x7
Federal 595RSR semi slicks 195/50/15

Interior;
Stripped of original seats, trim, headlinging, sound deadening etc
Stereo system removed
Airbag system removed
Spare wheel removed
Bimarco FIA legal seats
Luke 5point FIA legal harnesses
Battery relocated to wheel well
13" dished steering wheel

Exterior;

Lots of scratches and dents
Few large IbizaOC stickers

Time for a long over due update

After the oil reaching 130deg while on track at Rockingham, I decided that an oil cooler was necessary, so a 19row cooler with Mocal fitting kit was bought with thermostatic sandwich plate to prevent over cooling

During fitting

How it sits behind the grill

Lupo GTi oil filter so it clears the subframe

I was getting moaned at for various rusty bits, so decided to start slapping some paint on

So Donington Park was booked and paid for, the day went without any major issues. Although there were a few minor things, I didn't get to grips with the new Federal 595 RS-Rs (but from talking to people after the day, it seems I may be well off on the pressures), the bush on the rear ARB popped out, the car developed a small knocking noise from the front but I couldn't determine what it was and it had no adverse effect.

I put some Ferodo DS3000s in after the lunch break to replace the DS2500s I already had in, the difference is amazing. It makes the 2500s feel like a budget pad, bite is so much better and the car slows so much quicker too, really impressed with them!

Few pics from the day,

No major changes for GTi International, just a tidy up, repaint the interior and new gear knob

I ran on the sprint strip, not that happy with times, only 0.03 quicker to 60 compared to last year and 0.2 over the 1/4 mile

Looks good mate. Donington seems a good circuit! So you think the oil cooler was a worth while upgrade for when being abused on track? Ive been looking at one for my Nova,its going to be used at tracks days and ocational use on the road at weekends etc!

Yeah, at Rockingham which was around 15deg and damp the oil was at 125-130, at Donington which was dry, sunny and 25deg the oil sat at 100-110deg

Oil cooler has gone.

In short, I can't afford to run 2 cars. I am paying rent and insurance for the car to sit there doing nothing. If I had somewhere safe and free, I would store it for a few years
