So, I attempted to fit my new suspension today, so nice Gaz GHA coilovers which are adjustable in damping and height. For good measure I have also got some stiffer rear top mounts made from polyurethane.

So new top mounts

Old strut

Comparisons

And on

Although this after a successful fitting session of the rears, I noticed that it was sat on the bump stops, which is not helpful. From stock height it was only down 20mm and some of that was from the bump stops. So they came back off and originals are back on for now. Gaz should sort me out some with shorter dampers, need to decide how much short I require though! I had a quick measure of the fronts and fingers crossed they will be fine!

When I looked at the front I found this though

Which I think could be a knackered shock (only happened in the past few days I think)

I also noticed that the block was dirty/damp again after I cleaned it off a bit the other week. I think the seal on the distributor needs replacing, so thats on the list of jobs along with the leaky water pump!

Standards at the moment, I need to source a glove box to replace the passenger airbag, then I will get some plastic cards made up. Can't do it now as I won't have any storage in the car at all!

Got the front coilovers on yesterday, and GAZ are making some new (shorter) rears for me too.

As with any slightly old car, start the day off with 2 of these

But then these went on without too much hassle

Which leaves it sitting like this at the moment

And started painting the interior

Will get some more done tonight I think!

So sort of got the painting finished, (well back half anyway!) Just bits around the front which require lots of masking which I can't be bothered for.

And the paint I used!

These turned up the other day too

Fit rear coilovers
Fit braided lines and refurb brakes
Buy 2 more R888's and have them fitted to my 15's
Buy/make/fit a cargo net
Buy and fit a decat
Buy and fit sunstrip
Add more stickers
Maybe look at the induction set up too

Time for an update me thinks!

So I bought a 4 branch manifold cos of some sheared studs. I had a right nightmare trying to get the old one off, resulted in some power tool action

Comparison, new vs old

On the car

That was the easy bit, although it physically fitted and didn't foul the bulkhead, the angle is finished at mean't the connecting pipe couldn't possible seal, so resulted in a trip to my local Powerflow dealer, who charged me a stupid amount of money for this shonkey work

Anyway, all on and not blowing, it sounds gooooooood.

Had it chucked on the rollers at Shark Performance's open day

Which was 156bhp and 185Nm of torque. Its overfueling because its running with no lambda at the moment.

Picked up 2 more R888's

Then tonight we have set about making my rear strut brace which will also be a harness bar

Some smoking

And the actual work

Will get some more pics when its painted tomorrow

Thing is, its not blowing and its doing the job, its just not pretty

So finished off the brace today and got it painted, put the rear 1/4 panels in and made the stereo work too. Also got my 888's fitted to the track wheels

Just needs a wash and the wheel swap then its ready for Edition38 and Trax this weekend!

Well yesterday was a bit nerve racking and annoying, I thought my MOT was due in October so I dug it out to double check the date and it turns out to have been 2 weeks ago when it ran out. Whoops.

Few phone calls around and a mate had time to do it for me  With only a few advisories, which is basically all stuff I knew about.

I bought them from VW Heritage, but they are half the price at C&R, which I didn't find out till I had received them.
