almost doubled figures,

your including clutch and flywheel, which yes need to be done but dont made any bhp!

My mate is thinking about mapping his Fiat Punto 1.9 TDI 130... a quick look online suggests it will give him 50bhp and over 270lbs ft of torque!!! When a diesel is mapped does it provide more smoother power throughout the range instead of one big lump?

I can find silly mapped diesels get very difficult to drive, I mean with a 6 speed box in mine I find with 120bhp I'm changing gear a lot, let alone with double the power.

I'm not too hot on this huge diesel modding but your car looks amazing xa0s and as long as you are happy

My Punto makes 188bhp and 316ft/lbs tell him to get to RedDot , they are regarded as the best for the JTD-M`s made my car 100% better to drive, really reccomend it

Do you have a video of it accelerating?

Very impressive figures, really. But i cant get over how these drive when standard. In say a 30mph zone, they feel rapid, but once you get them on a motorway or similar, they soon run out of puff. Ive driven quite a few Golfs, Leons and A3's etc etc and im reeeaaally not impressed. Felt that my 1.6 D series Civic at the time would have beat it! Quite intreagued to see how this Fabia of yours goes!

This was before the 'final' map with f*cked tyres... Spinning up in 3rd at like 60mph so doesn't really do it justice. It was RR'd at under 190bhp then and it's now 240bhp but it doesn't really make a huge difference to be honest...

EDIT: Oh and the video was to show how bad the 'ASR' traction control system is... It literally cuts the power for ages if it detects any loss in traction... It's ALWAYS turned off now.

POW, you need to use the power properly, not just the torque, hybrid jobbies, pull from 2k right to 4.5k, which in 4th gear is well above the national speed limit......

With a stage 1 remap by ibiza was making 160bhp all the way to 4k so the powers spread across the rev range more now rather than coming in at once and much more useable

Still gives you about 4k of 'usable' rev range whereas a petrol gives you 6 or 7. Don't get me wrong, I love diesels but changing gear ALL THE TIME gets boring

When I had my Ibiza Cupra I got raped by a VRS after about 50mph. It literally left me like I wasn't even moving.

You don't drive it like a petrol though ? I can get into 4th at 30mph and pull well over the nsl without having to change gear, at cruising speed I knock it into 5th and done. Round town I rarely come out of 4th

Do you actually use the whole rev range of the petrol, 7k in every gear?
Diesels have less revs, but more power and effortless overtaking and dont need the tits revved off them to gdt anywhere like a petrol. I can overtake a 60mph car in 5th no bother then slip back into 6th and cruise along

I have found agressive maps on standard engines are far too agressive on the PD engines

CR tend to be more linear

hybrid allows consistent pressure across all rev range meaning better performance regardless of pub talk figures

Great figures by the way but alot of money

I would have settled for a remap at about 180BHP but fair play

In all honesty you dont see that much difference in gear unless there is a big difference in BHP - in your case you will notice the difference as its about 60 BHP up on a rempap PD engine

I like how people think you can map a pd130 to 180bhp, 160-170 bhp with 300lb/ft is much more realistic figure
