new turbo core arrived









fitted up



and back up and running , 18s are on the front ready to go on the dyno to make sure its all ok just need to drop the oil before hand

was on 16s for on they dyno and they were still spinning so the bigger the wheel the more grip it will give me on the dyno

car was ment to be on the dyno today to make sure the map was all fine with it being in pieces so much, decided to give it a check over yesterday and stick the proper oil in, looked in header tank and it had a oily film on the top of it



thought it might of been from when i striped it all down and a bit of oil had got in there so thought nothing of it , wend to drop the oil out and this is what it looked like(bearing in mind it had been run for 15mins to let the engine warm up, ,no miles on it and no boost)





looked to of mixed with the water , i stuck the new oil in and left it for 30 mins running to get it all up to temp, i then spoke to steveboy and he had said dale had been having some problems with his so a quick call to dale and we both came to the conclusion that there was a fault with the headgasket ,

so started at 12 today and had it all of by 2.15, not bad going



think the cam cover gasket wasent seated right pmsl







the part we were thinking is at fault is these two holes are not lining up



but looking at the old gasket (the one i used last year fine) there the same , the only diffrence between them is the water way hole has been drilled diffrent

this is this years gasket thats failed



and this is last years(the red dots are where the new water holes are drilled in the gasket ) so were not sure if this is the problem some how



so the plan is , steve is sending me a 1.3mm cometic which will be here on wednesday and will hopefully hold 2.6 bar and 700ish bhp to be able to get me to pv , so should have it running by weekend , then we just need to sort this hks gasket out as its cost me £230 and the cost of the oil thats fucked now

It's a joke that all these top quality gaskets fail. I saw the oil coming from Dale's head the other day, he was hoping for it to last. Good luck.

Saying always was buy expensive buy once. Seeing it more and tore often recently. All these brand recommended by xxx as the best, just turn out to be horse shit. You spend your own time sorting other people's mistakes.

i was saying to dale the other day ive ran regals wonderful 2 zlet 1.9mil cheap head gaskets for years and ive never once had a problem with them.

Issue is this was a "proven" gasket but the new batch me and Ben were running are clearly faulty, I'm now on cometic gasket... Will update my thread once I'm happy there is a fix but out driving at present...

They tend to fail between the firing rings.

As said they tend to blow between the cylinders and the hks has a stronger firing ring

The HKS gasket sorted Ben's engine problems he had with head gaskets failing was only replaced because I replaced the piston rings, rods etc, that was the last of the previous stock of supplied gaskets (they were supplied direct) the gasket which is possibly faulty manufactured, both Dales and Bens are both of the current batch.
I have yet to make contact with the supplier.
