you dont have to have them to pass the mot, but technicaly if you have them you should have projector headlamps, auto leveling and washers
not going to affect the mot not having them unless the beam pattern is everywhere

Nothing to do with being projectors, headlight unit must be designed for HIDS, which normal projector headlights aren't, and some cars with standard hids don't have projectors.
