Check your earth straps under the bonnet, my old gsi had a similar problem with a bad earth..

Tbh I had a quick look, and it just dosnt seem to be getting a spark for sumwere. Leads didnt smell of fuel so dont think its flodded,

would check the earths. Or add a earth somewhere and see if that makes anydifference. When I put my engine in my car (c20xe) I didn't have the extra earth on it and it sounded like yours does now. Then I put a extra earth on it. Rummm rummm started. So mabie give that a whirl.
