Just trying to sort out my sky for my new house; i've never had sky before so dont really know what is worth getting with it!

I have a 1080p TV so will get the full HD but was wondering if it was actually worth the extra £9.75 a month?

I'd see if you can get it cheap for 6 months but it's definitely worth it, so much better than SD.

It's a tenner, not even the equivalent of a pint a week and it's well worth it, so much better.

Phone up and give a sob story about how you want it but can't afford it, sometimes works sometimes doesn't.

Worth it for the football and the documentaries. You get the odd good movies in it too.

Yea, I love my HD. Like Cosmo said, for Football, and Documentaries alone, there's also the occasional Sky One program on there, and when the American shows are back in the "fall" it'll come into it's own even more

Had a mate round recently to test view it, and he was really depressed when he had to leave and go back to his standard definition televison.

It's not displayed in 1080p btw, 1080i or 720p are the choices on the box

The HD on our tele broke a bit back (the Sky update blew the HD on the Pioneer TV) so we had to view things in shitty definition for a while - worst thing ever.

Do you just watch HD channels or something? AFAIK not all channels are HD?

No, but when you pay £10 extra a month for the HD channels and you cant watch them it is a bit of a fucking bitch.

£10 extra a month for 22 HD channels, not my thing tbh, if youve got the cash to do it then fair enough, I know its not a lot but Id rather spend that on something else

If its not 1080p even less of a point in paying for it surely??

Why do sky charge extra? Virgin don't and the V+ box blows Sky+ to pieces.

It is a shame, as the free on-demand content on Virgin and the 3rd tuner (record 2 & watch a 3rd at once) are great. Sky need to catch up on this.. when I worked for them they were looking into developing a broadband type device to compete with Virgin. Suprising really considering they used to be the 1st to introduce innovations and new technology.

Sky is better for the choice of HD channels though.

TBH, I had the best of both worlds by having both Virgin and Sky HD when I worked at Sky. Not got it anymore though, we stuck with Virgin.

The virgin on demand stuff is good sometimes but for me presonally sky is a much better service in general, the sole reason virgin still exist as a TV provider are because most people buy a standard package to then geta dodgy box.

I like it but theres hardly any shit in HD that I ever want to watch and I'm too poor to have sports and movies as well lol. Could do with e4 and filmfour hd channels.

My sky HD box works fine so far.

All electronics break, as long as it's not to 360 proportions who cares.
