I disagree I thought the corsas could only be taken up to near 300bhp safely without worrying about internals and what not...where as there is astras on stage 3 comfortably running 340+ and some thinking about phase 4.
Corsa VXR @300bhp?  standard injectors are maxed out at 240bhp, people are already complaining of detonation issues from EDS maps and having engines replaced but this has been hushed up by a particular tuner.
Astra VXR @ 340bhp maximum achievable gain with intercooler/map/exhaust is 300bhp and that is at a push, again for anything beyond 300bhp you are looking at rods and bigger turbo.
I laughed aswell, at the money people pay companies to take their car to this sort of level, the pricing is out of this world to tune a vauxhall and its still FWD

nothing, it's just people who have never driven a MODERN fwd high powered turbo car think they all don't go round corners well and can't put the power down.
mines fine in the dry...

They're fine in the wet in the right hands too  what the guy at Silverstone could make an ST do was unbelievable.

FWD! (With a Limited Slip Diff).
FWD / 4WD / RWD
depending on situation, probably RWD. However, FWD with a LSD is seriously easy to drive fast safely.

Im saying you can go a lot faster in something else with either rwd or 4wd for a lot less money then buying an astra vxr and paying thorney or regel or courtney to tune it up for ya to them sort of levels.
And ben, iv driven a car exactly like yours and they are fine in the dry yes

That is ridiculous though, because a 4WD Scooby does 10MPG and servicing costs yadda yadda yadda.
Just because a Scooby has 4WD doesn't make it invicible.

A scooby will do a hell of a lot more than 10mpg Ollie And they aren't THAT much to service. I'd say it's not much more at all than say a Corsa or Astra VXR!

4wd - Might as well set it on autopilot as the car does all the work. Makes a terrible driver look and feel good.
FWD - needs a lot of work, much more entertaining. Who cares if its slower round the bends, it requires input from teh driver. Can make a lame driver look ok, can make a good driver look awesome.
RWD - The fastest, also probably hardest to control. Requires the most skill (mainly jsut throttle control). Most entertaining.
Cost of a decent brand new RWD motor though?
All 4wd's mostly suck on motorways due to huge powerloss by the 4x4. Scoobies are a perfect example of this, as are Pulsars, even Skylines!!!
Off the line, skyline will beat a RWD Supra, but go from 80mph and see what flies ahead

Astra does similar on track???? Whats the maths on 105 miles from 52 litres?
Vauxhall engines now rock due to 20,000 mile service intervals. Compare that to an "eco friendly Prius" which has a service every 10k?
Go figure? Lame assed hippy engine need a service 50% more than a moderatly tuned turbo engine.

Gotta dis-agree on the Pulsar being a crap 4wd car.In the wet they are just as dangerous as a RWD car.And on the motorway,mines had no trouble in reaching top end.They arent exactly the heaviest of cars so 4wd powerloss isnt really an issue.

RWD is rediculous over winter. i want my corsa back it was so much easier and more predictable and fun in the bends.
