Ah are they! Ah it's just a case of emmisions are regulated diff in them then?

i found out today that the x's have 113bhp and the z's have 123bhp

so it might be better fitting a pedal box. plus the z ecus are better to map.

errrr arp bolts dont fit, tried and tested, if you ever fit them you will see what i mean.

fitting 1.6 rods on my 1.8 with arp bolts

different emission regulations, internals are all the same, heads same, so actual engine would make same power...

The X18XE1 has 115bhp not 113, the Z18XE has 123bhp and not 125bhp like a lot of people say it has. There is 8bhp between the 2 variants, the later Z18XE is an ECO4 engine and has slightly different cam settings I believe plus of course the drive by wire and the CAT on the manifold.

There's not a lot of difference between the 2 TBH, the Z18XE may be fractionally quicker but it's nothing worth bothering about.

no not worth it at all

and apparntly the cams are different, yes

but might aswell fit some decent cams, rather than just fitting Z cams

If you need any other bits give me a shout - got quite a few bits left from when I had my XE1 in, that I'm going to stick on ebay soon enough, but to be fair if you need them then I'd just send em for postage The ususal issues are something to do with the EGR/cruising. The TB is a pain in the fact the IAC is built into it, and you would need to replace whole TB rather than just clean out the IAC with it being a sealed unit. I'd block off the EGR - this was removed on the Z18XE engine for the exact reason that it was crap on the XE1. I'd try and keep it to as few mods as possible. With mine, and then comparing to other people's XE1's, on the same rolling roads, the more engine mods you did, the worse they performed. Well known for running lean top end, a remap would sort this out, but as you probably know, this might be worthless, when you disconnect the battery you may lose the map anyways unless you have a stand alone ECU. Although 113bhp wouldn't be too sad in a corsa seeing as it weighs less than my big toe! My vec had 117.5bhp (WHE-HEY!) with a remus cat back, gsi backbox, K&N air filter, blocked EGR and the three pipe mod..... This is about as good as it gets!

Ah right was hoping to use them or similar to help generally strengthen the engine!

A may aswell go for the XE1 then if their more or less the same, Cheers all!

Excuse my lack of knowledge but how'd you all mean by pedal box?
