Always think about, never been able to afford it...

Would need sprayed if I took off the door trim too as it's a different colour underneath

Maybe after the XE is in...

Well, finally got some time to throw this XE in my car...

Day 1:

Flywheel and box on ready to go in...

Old 1400 before work started...

1400 coming out...

A hole

XE on engine crane

Lined up with mounts

End of the first day, few beers to call it a day

Day 2:

Brakes, shafts etc on...

Ready for first start up

Re-torqued headbolts...

Ready for first road test

Hmmm, road test didn't go so well

Ignition live wire decided that it would go on fire, don't know yet if it was a short circuit or whether the wire was of a sufficient gauge...

Few problems to iron out, but other than that

Nice to see the engine finally in, small set back but nothing major by the sounds of things. You will need to take me for a spin in it once you have run it in.

I thought i saw you last night, there was an arden blue Corsa out with black morettes and speedlines + steel wheel and for sale signs Thought that the conversion must have gone horribly and you had thrown it up for sale! Only realised now that Ben had been waving at an absolute random all night

Cheers for the comments lads

If you look closely the bulkhead is a mess where we had a mare with a stupidly big powercap

What do you not like about the throttle cable Keith?

The powercap I got clearly wasn't for a conversion, it wasn't an Mtec one - I think it was just for an XE as standard fit.

Probably would of been easier fitting the SFI box

Oh, transducer for the speedo doesn't work on the XE.... need help with that guys

Did you take your eletric transducer out of the x14xe's gearbox and put it into the f20?

I thought all powercaps were the same size you do have to chop a good bit out the bulkhead for it to fit what you needing to know bout the speedo?

Yeah I did, it works with an older transducer for electric clocks so I'm told...

Can you confirm that?

I just put the one from my 1.4 into my f20 and it worked fine.

It was as accurate as it was with the f13. So between 1-3 mph out. Nothing major.
