helo posted up here recently about my engine being so slow!
have had it scannd and came up with hall sensor,

so i then found the exhuast pulley to have a missing pik up for the sensor,
excited that it was a cheap fix i replaced the pulley and it hasnt changed a thing!

have now replaced crank sensor, cam sensor and exhaust cam pulley, timing is pot on and nothing has changed,
it drives ok but there is no power what so ever, is just compltely flat.

i work for a dealership and even no1 there knowes what is rong with it.

havnt been beaten by my friends 1.2 standard corsa! thats how bad it is!

gettin really anoyed with it now, im finking of puttin a 1.6 gte engine in it.

but i'd rather fix this engine, i just havnt got a clue whats rong with it

please can sum1 help

Is engine managment light on? On my 1.4 I had major problems because the ECU need to know what speed the car is doing. If your engine managment light is still on im guessing its throwing error for VSS (vehicle speed sensor)

hes got a gsi i think mate, yer the ecu has a sensor that detects the speed, it doesnt usually have that much affect on speed though, does your car cut out went stopping at juctions ect?? get the speedo working an go from there. also check for air leaks ect round the inletside of things, also check map sensor

Sorry forget late Gsi's had the x16xe, speedo cable should be causing a few problems without a doubt. My old car snapped the cable from the gearbox, just stalled every where and as said above somewhere, mainly when you stop

as if its still being a turd. the speedo cable may cause it to cut out but i thought this was only on the electric speedos. i would make it run like turd. have you had it compression tested?

ive checked most things today, checked fuel pressure, continuity cheks from sensors to ecu all are fine,
imissions are good.
they dont have air flow metere do they?

doesnt hunt or anything, havnt got any air leaks at all.

has been serviced, hasnt got a cat.

at idle it runs spot on. just when u put ure foot to the floor it holds back, at first fort it was fuel starvation as this what it feels like,
going to try a cam sensor again as i have the old 1 on at the mo and see what happens.

if worse come to the worse ill put my bike carbs on n have done with all this shit lol

i had a very similar issue with my X14XE but it turned out that inlet cam had skipped forward 2 teeth (rocker cover gasket had gone... leaked oil onto the cambelt)

If you are positive the timing is spot bollock.... only thing i can suggest is compression test

my initial thought was compression test, if the compression, timing and fueling are spot on and there are no air leaks then try fitting your new speedo cable and leave your battery disconnected for a good hour. this should solve problem and re-programme your ecu (although it will run like shit for a few minutes).
