IIRC HDMI cabling is all the same, you're only paying for looks and length.

I'd always use hdmi over scart if the device has it, the scart cable will cost more than the hdmi one.

As I said, they're all the same. They just try and get away with charging £70 for a cable, when a £10 one does the same thing.

I have QED HDMI's from my DVD player (1080p upscaler) and Amp. They're supposed to be recommended and won awards etc. But saying that, the PS3 HDMI cable I got for free does exactly the same job when I swap them over. I can't see any difference at all.

try ebay for HDMI, unlike scart cables it doesnt really matter on the price as its all data / 1's and 0's rather than analog scart signal.

Send it all through the HDMI. I send it all through the component on my TV. Scart looks shite in comparison - the colour is all over the place...

What utter bollocks!

HDMI cables arnt 'all the same'
You think a £1.99 ebay lead will be the same quality as a professional £200 lead??

TBH you dont need to spend a fortune if you only going short distances (i.e up to 3m) but go for one with gold plated terminations and individually screened cores.

Totally depends on you budget but £20 should get you a decent quality cable.

It's not utter bollocks, the 1.99 ebay lead is just as good as the 200 quid one.

What exactly is better on the 200 quid one?

And tell me how exactly you'll notice any minute difference they may have using a sky+ box and a normal tv.

All the hdmi cab;es I have from ebay are also very high quality.

I also got a cheapish QED 1m cable. the usual sheilding and gold plated connectors but I wasn't going to pay ££ for a monster cable etc..

I can't see the difference with the free Sky HD cable apart from the length. Wanted a smaller cable
