Anyone ashamed to answer this question...

"so what car do you drive"

with "a vauxhall corsa"

...even more so if you then have to say "its modified though!"

Had a conversation at work about this today. One of the lads loves this question as he gets to say "a VX220", to which most people say "whats that?"

It gets worse when you have to explain thats its faster than a space ship because then you just sound like a complete tool.

If anyone askes me what I drive I normally reply with,
"Just a Corsa"
I never hype it up at all though, as anyone who has seen my car in person always make a point of the bad things no matter how small they are lol.
I always get asked what engine spec it is, and thats when it starts to become embarassing.

Not fussed about anyones opinions anymore though, I just don't put my car out there and show pictures all the time like I used to.

had a conversation with an old college bud of mine the other week, he used to be into his cars. went a bit like this;

friend "what you driving now then?"

me "a corsa"

friend "oh... is it a redtop then"

me "na 1.2"

friend "oh...erm...nice"

me "i like it, what you driving like?"

friend "porsche 911 gt"

me "ok if you like that sort of thing i suppose, bit homo for me like"

I don't feel ashamed telling people I drive a 206, but I always feel the need to go further and tell them that it's not your average 206 - that it's a Grand Tourisme and there were only 600 RHD one's made. Then once I've told them that I feel like I've come across like I'm trying to brag and be all smug about it

Sometimes, if it's someone asking me who isn't into cars, I just feel like calling it a GTi rather than a GT.... everyone knows what a 'GTi' is and what it represents... 'GT' doesn't have quite the same stigma!

Never had a problem telling anyone I drive a Corsa, I've had people assume it's a 1.6, I just said, nah 1.2, usually just say, s'pose you've gotta start somewhere
