there is a perception that corsa drivers are poor or something... people always say to me; "you have a good job, why are you driving a corsa??"

there is a massive difference between a car you DRIVE and a car you OWN...

matey with a focus rs (on finance) might look good but still have less money than someone who potters about in a subtle corsa...

as for driving a modded car, people either love it or hate it... it's a matter of taste...

so, in answer to the question, i am never ashamed to admit it, i like being under-estimated tbh. doesn't bother me at all!!

I get that feeling with me to be honest. I drive my car by choice as it' s really enjoyable car to drive.

I could buy any x, y, z, 10 grand car... but I don't see anything wrong with what I have.

Though so many people look down on it both, non car people and car people lol

I liked my Corsa but sometimes I did feel a bit embarrassed depending who I was telling. Just grew out of it.

I think any of the Vauxhall/Ford/Citroen etc. super minis over the age of about 21 can be a bit embarrassing though. Doesn't mean I think there is anything wrong with those type of cars, you just know that other people dont think much of them.

I wouldn't find driving something like a new shape MINI Cooper bad though for example.

They hold the money. The problem will be when you want to change it for something even better and don't have more money for monthlies.

So enjoy it while you can. You'll hate it when it starts falling to bits and you can't trade up and don't want to trade sideways

I had that in town the other night.

Some dirty council tramp pushing her push chair shouted it to me. Wanted to stop and tell her to stop spreading her legs and she might be able to do something with her life and be able to afford one

I am starting to feel embarrassed to say I drive a Corsa. Especially when guys at my work are driving BM's, Brand new Punto's, S4's etc.

I agree about it not being seen as cool to own a Corsa once you're past 20 or so. If it's a 2 litre or something it may be more acceptable. Corsa just has a bad image tbh.
