Just got a letter through the post saying Ive been caught doing 43mph in a 30mph zone!!

It asks me to fill in this form, and send it back signed, but doesnt say anything about punishment!!

Ive been driving for 2 1/2 years with no previous offences!!

What will be the likely punishment?? Is there any chance il get away with a driver awareness course!!??

After you send the form off they will then send you details of what you need to pay and points etc. Doing 45mph you will not be eligible for a speed awareness course. When I went on mine last year the people who were on the course were caught doing in between 33-37mph (had to introduce ourselves in an alcoholics awareness stylee "my names Jill and I'm from aylesbury, and I got caught doing 36mph in a 30mph zone..." The course leader called us "Joe average speeders" and anyone above is not eligible apparently. Also, just so you know if you don't declare your points to you insurance company and have an accident your insurance will be completely void I should imagine you'll get a £60 fine and three points cos I got caught doing about that speed in Nov 2005 and that's what I got.

Yeah let your insurance know as soon as you know how many points etc you've got- better to be safe than sorry Your insurance will go up a bit. Mine only went up by £25 which was great and that included all the admin/paperwork side of things. But I was 23 at the time, 6 years ncb etc so that prob had a lot to do with it also.
