Does water in the oil definetly mean the head gasket has gone or could it be something else?
Not long ago i bought an engine from Corsatpot, he assures me that the engine is in good condition and i believe him. My car is a 1999 v reg sport and the engine he gave me was a 1995 n reg sri. The engine is fitted (By wallace performance in aberdeen), started first time, was at a fine temperature for ages until the mechanic took it for a test drive, then all of a sudden the temperature went right up off the scale, got back to garage and there was creamy bits in the water. He says its the head gasket but im not sure if it is because my last engines gasket was blown and the temperature was constantly at high. Not when it all of a sudden started getting driven.
Any other suggestions?
Cheers
Shaun

hello m8, jst spoke to lee mitchell and he says the engine was sound when taken out, will get receipts of all work done to it, headgasket was changed not even a year before i sold the engine to you. Lee mentioned that where you had it sitting about for 5-6 months before installing, the thermostat might have seized up?? fan switch not connected properly, it wouldnt have just blown headgasket after overheating for a couple of minutes!! i cant beleive youve had this problem!!

honestly pal, dont worry about it, im pissed off with the garage as there trying to charge me £1200-£1500 for the work they've done but the engine isint completely done. Plus i dont know how the hell they came up with that price as most of the parts were there.
