ok, ive had a problem for ages where my car runs excessively rich........averaging 25-30 to a gallon
killed 2 cats.....
i cant figure out what it is, ive tried;
*new vaux lambda sensor,
*new vaux cts
(recently)*new crank sensor
*3 different sets of injectors.
i tried putting my 268 cams in the otherday, and on idle it would just flood......then wouldnt start again as the plugs were too wet......
so out with them and back on std cams.
what can i do??as i would like to use my cams really
(only answer if you actually know please)

when its running really rich does it smell of petrol to the extent where it smells like you have been drenched in it? as this is what mine is like and i don't average much at all about 30mpg max.

you can try guessing on the web for months mate.
get yourself down to somewhere with a RR and a wideband lambda!

using my vast memory from college, the ecu's fuelling is controlled via, readings taken from the throttle pot compared to the map sensor.
do map sensors just go week?

Ive never heard of a map sensor failing.
TPS is used for throttle position and rate of opening/closing.
MAP is the load on the engine.
