i'd give it 2 seconds, 1 for the exhaust manifold to blow to bits with the turbo, and the other for the block to internally combust!!

power is made in the cylinder head - not the bottom end, forget about that

as said before, due to high compression a only low blow turbo is needed say 6psi, with is equal to a low compression engine running 15psi with a high blow turbo

this set up is running one of there inlet manifolds, which add 23bhp (surpost)

so say with a air filter and inlet your looking at 100bhp (75bhp standard)

so 130-140bhp isn't impossible with new management, if you looked at the graph the cars revving to almost 7krpm

internal mods for what exatly? it is, and this is the important bit that people are missing, forced induction. the std ecu with this generic map will be fine. i cant see it causing any problems

as for timing chain???? wtf? i ran double the power of an let, using a timing belt that is from a 150bhp engine. i havent upgraded

more strain on the chain will come from rpm. where is the masses of extra rpm in this 1.2 turbo? so the strain is no more than std? yes or no?

if u asked me what u thought would be safer, a normal timing belt, say off a 16xe or one of those timing chains off the 1.0 and 1.2's, i'd take the belt every time!!

ican quite easily believe 150bhp is possible from this, but not 150 reliable like they claim without uprating internals

yes, belt is clearly better than chain, that's why bike engines and f1 engines are chain driven.

not saying all chains are crap, they should be more reliable, most likely are! BUT ALL IM SAYING IS THE CHAINS THEY USE ON THE 1.0 AND 1.2'S ARE USELESS!! THE LINKS COME OFF ON THE CHAIN AND MAKE ALL THE MESS!!

so are we still talking about the 'bullshit' power figures, or now the 'crap' reliability?

im with muppetsport on this one

we arn't talking about weather the engine will take the strain or not

personaly i dont belive the 158bhp, but it i think with the right mods 140bhp is achievable

with low boost and an intercooler, uprated injectors and a good map to retard the igntion, it should run fine

yep, as people are blinded by the fact they dont know what they are talking about and decide to abuse some of us that actually understand engines and how they work.

somehow people are confusing themselves

the higher the speed on the rollers the less resistance = higher the bhp figure. a power run should never be done in 5th for that reason. 3rd or 4th is reccomended, a more accurate figure is given by using 3rd.

no.

145+ bhp: no

i'd rather not spunk over £3000 on summat like this, unique yes, but pointless. end of the day its a 1.2 corsa. i'd like to see regal or dave A prove what it runs then we could all stop bickering about it.
