The only reason mine is blue is because the head gasket went and my mate ovisley didn't clean it up properly.

not sure yet. there is slight slap on piston 4 so ideally it wants a set of piston rings, but that wouldnt cause it to smoke so much by changing the head. i think i might be dodgy valve stem seals (which are brand new) or its a cracked head. ive got to get a few prices on getting the head tested but im not really sure if i want to spend nemore money on engine as it will be removed and replaced before pvs. im tempted to remove whats left of it as it is and either brake the engine for parts or keep it for spares. dont think its worth my while rebuilding it to be honest as i would struggle to get the money back

ARP main bearing stud conversion has arrived. thats another £90 on the engine rebuild

will be picking up my block from the engineers tomorrow morning as its been acid dipped for £15 + vat.

tonight i have to make my mind up as to if im getting the coscast head sorted out or not. it will decided whether im keeping the car or not.

the head needs :

8x new valve guides - £15.49
fit new valve guides - £22.60
reface cyl head - £24.00
reface 16x valve seats - £39.20
reface 16x valves - £39.20
acid dip, replace seals and rebuild - £76.00
replace coolant pipe - £38.00

total - £254 + VAT (£299.03 inc VAT)

is that a good price?

total -
