Fitting a built in wardrobe in the next couple of weeks, i have 3 large mirrored doors and the tracks, only problem is i bought them second hand (ebay... £30 ) and my rooms about 3 foot wider than what i have, so the plan is to build a frame, with a foot and a half of MDF on each side so it looks ok (will paint the mdf white i think, or do somthing with it to posh it up a bit!)

Im abit stumped when it comes to the lighting, i would like spotlights inside the wardrobe, but wanna know what other options i have as well!

Was thinking i could have no lights in there, but it runs across the width of the bedroom (11ft) and will be about 2ft deep so it will be dark in there

also, somthing easy to put up can u buy battery powered ones with come with a seperate switch i can put on the wall and link upto spotlights?

help...

You can get battery push lights off/on but they are crap in my eyes...

Get an electrician to fit lights correctly into the wardrobe and put double switch in wall, shouldn't cost much to do...

We have just had one fitted above our wardrobes as it's abit dark too....

Stick it into one corner & put either shelfs on the 3ft gap.

or

Into one corner & frame it & fix plaster board onto the framing.

3 spotlights hardwired onto the ceiling.

Thats what id do

I cant col, the chimney breast runs up the middle of the wall, so am using the alcoves on either side of it as recessed wardrobe bits with hanging rail and shelves. Good idea thou, might see if theres a way round it but i doubt it
