this is a different thread to my other one from the other day about my mates dojy wiring (fuel pump didn't come on)! i sorted that out! turns out this so called mate of my friend (who did the conversion) hacked away at the wiring taking out the fuel pump relay!! top knobhead!!
anyway, there's this other mysterious problem! when the car's running and you turn off the ignition it won't turn off!! the only way to get it to switch off is to pull out the rev counter/speedo clocks!! also the rev counter isn't working properly (it just moves upto a 1000rpm thats all). so, we put my speedo in and the rev counter worked properly and the engine swtiched off!
the car is originally a 1.4 16v sport. but the speedo thats in is a cable driven one, where as mine is one from a gsi (electrically driven). just wondered if the clocks that are in his car now are the wrong ones or faulty?? ANY IDEAS????

no its all sorted now....i think!! i've compared it to mine.
not diagnostic light comes on, on his clocks, but on mine it does light up! just wondering if the rev counter coils is knackered and dragging something down with it?
