Standard for standard, which is the better car on these points?
Speed
Handling
Looks
Comfort
Build Quality
Insurance
I know there more or less the same car, just looking for a few opinions on them.

Speed - Identical
Handling - Identical
Looks - Ermm....
Comfort - 106 has better interior
Build Quality - Identical
Insurance - Roughly same but 106's are more valuable like for like
I know there more or less the same car, just looking for a few opinions on them.
Due to the amount of VTR/S's around these days id rather pay the extra for a 106.

I disagree mainly because Saxo' VTR's and VTS's look identical there is no other 106 that looks like the GTI other than a silver quicksilver...

debadge a quiksilver and you have the gti looks though . im saying that probobly because i work at pug and get bored of them . build quality is terrible , saxos are much better . true , gti interiors are nice to start but the suade turns nasty quickly , from what we have seen at work vts are very responsive to tuning like the 1.6corsa . i admit gtis, yes are less common but are overpriced really and insurance is roughly the same . saying that around my end thre are more gtis than vts's

people see u in a VTS or VTR they think your a luckt git tbh, because alot of peeps would be jelous about that i no i would be.... gti is a nice car but doesnt really turn heads. my m8s got a 106 quicksilver sounds n looks b***ocks tbh with ya n i find my corsa more pleasing, but b4 his 106 he had a VTR..... took a corner at 80mph n flipped it, wrote it off, n he definatly asys that he misses his VTR and preferrs is alot more over his 106.....upto u mate, see if ur able to take them a test drive?

The 1.4 VTR was a special edition. My next door neighbour has one.

I had a vtr, I thought it was the nuts at the time, sold it to my mate. Went out in it the other day and I couldn't see what I used to buzz off slow
If I was gonna get something like that again I would go for the 106GTI, just because they are less common where I live and they can look ace lowered, etc.

Do you mean the westcoast? I'm 99% sure they never made a 1.4 VTR...

They sold the 1.4 VTR in countrys like spain but wasnt released here although some were imported. Its very similar to 1.4 Furio.

Think you may be right. It's that rank yellow colour, with a west coast interior. Which is the nicest interior ever......... Yeah right!

SAXO = heap
Once I thought the VTS was the nuts, and I nearly got a VTR instead of a corsa, BUT my mate has a VTR as a first with full service history low milliege and the things falling apart!!! Clutch, gearbox, boot selonoid in the last month. So far the poor guy spent more on garage work than the car in the first place.
Also Saxo drivers (not all) normaly idiot chavs. Might just be where I live but they all have big exhausts and enjoy cutting me up. Best one was at the weekend. 2 lanes, lane beside me a vtr comes along spots me and stops. He has 5 car space in front of him. He sits there reving the nuts of it then speeds forward. I got the type R as the corsa attracted idiots. If I buy an evo will they stop trying to race me?
