well just been to garage have got the head off and well erm the engine is pretty much well fucked thing is looks like a torx bit or something has been lost in it and has fucked cylinder 4 and the head. my fault aswell
never mind just need to find a 1600 bare block and head and il just swap everything over. looks like il be aiming to get it back on the road between xmas and new year

just buy a running 1600 lump rather than stripping and swapping bits...

i have replaced several sensors etc on it so i might aswell swap them over. It will also be cheaper to just get a bare block and head rather than the full engine and gearbox

try sending craigturbo off here a u2u. i know he has a corsa gsi engine sitting that he just took out of, well, a gsi corsa.

been having a look for x16xe's cant find any how come there was loads around only 2 or 3 weeks ago now none just need a bare block and cylinder head. Tried a few scrappys but they all talk crap. Have asked botu a 1600 16v out a vectra astra tigra nything aslong as it is an ecotec and 98/99 ish going to get garage too try a few places for me, see if they have any more luck. I could of had a 2l in it by now

he has u2u to dear tho. not needing half the stuff as i already have lower inlet and lexmaul, iv also got gearbox etc

cost me £120 couple weeks ago when i picked it up all running. I stripped the engine out myself. All the garage have done is take exhaust manifold off and take head off to find a not very nice site garage is just next to my work, next street up so isnt to bad, car gets towed by my dads disco so thats free, phone calls are made on work phones, all very short, "hello im looking for............" them sorry dont have one" or "yep that will be £650 delivered"

you can use any 1.6 16v head if ya swapping all the bits over, bottom ends the same on eco-tec and non eco-tec, i had a X16XE bottom end on my C16XE
