I've just got hold of a 1995 Corsa b 1.2 8v. It's generally good, 68K genuine but with a few problems to sort out. From the history it had a JVC removable face single shot CD player/tuner fitted in place of the original radio cassette (by Halfords!). The problem I have is that the unit will occasionally switch from tuner to CD in use and will also intermittently switch on to CD (then off again) when the thing is switched off! At it's worst I have turned off the ignition and removed the key yet the audio is still switching itself on and off and the MFD flashes on and off in sympathy(ie clock and temp display - the bit that would normally display the radio station etc does not operate when unit is on - I assume it's disabled for this non-standard fit unit). After a few minutes this stopped.
I haven't yet removed the unit (as I don't have the flat-bladed tools to remove it from its holder in the dash). Anyone any idea as to what's going on

the permant live is connected to the stereo if it's on when ignition is off, take it back to halford they should sort it as they fitted it.
