i see many head units, which all look great,
but i have no idea if they are complete tat etc.
Eg, sony stuff on paper looks great, and then you listen to it...
I dont have a limited budget, i just want a HU to play 2 amps:
1 for RE SX12 sub, 1 for dianmond HEX6 comps.
Need an aux-in for my PS2
wont be running ANY speakers what so ever, from the HU, everything will be running from amps, dont know if that makes a difference.
Also, dont want a screen, as i already have one, and this will get in its way.
So with no money constraints, can any body recomend a quality HU, thats still good VFM

Nakamitchi
dont use the amp on mine it just runs the line driver which runs the EQ which runs the 2 amps and also runs teh dvd player on the aux in, copes without a hitch and to say there was a difference when i added it to the system would be a massive understatement!
dont look fancy like pioneers and alpines but its function over looks!

im defo not going for looks.
in fact to be honest, the worse it looks, the less chance there is of it getting chiefed, so im happy with that.
Tried this Nakamitchi you say on CAD, and although there's an option, nothing to be found, wierd...
As for Alpine, the most expensive is only £300.
Mr Fear, i wont be having an equilizer, can i still run the amps from this Nakamitchi jobby?
does no one recomend a specific model then, just 'expensive alpines, or pioneers'

cheerz matey boy.
i cant understand why thats soo good though?
the pioneer DEHP9600MP has a 6.5v out put, so wouldnt that be better than this 5v out put as the amplifier has to do 'less work'.
Is that not right...? its also over £1000 cheaper
N ive also never heard of the name b4...

Because the sound properties of the NakaMichi compared to the Pioneer are outstanding.

Ah ha. you see, this is why i asked. Understandable the sound properties are different, but as im using external amplifiers (not the one built in the HU for any speakers) is this factor important.
This is what i need to know.
Any yes, the MK retailer i saw was handing out prices of about £1800.
Any probs wit this?

Security: Detachable Facia

Of course its important, the amplifiers can only amplify the signal they are sent. Nakamichis do sound fantastic, as do Mexico Pros, both look a bit crap but sound amazing.
And as said nakamichis and mexico pros go for around £500 not £1500.
And yes they will sound a lot better than either alpines or pioneers, just not looking as flashy.
