not usually. check tutorials section, do the paper clip test and find ur problem

it'll be a sensor or valve most likely  as said above do the paperclip test found in tutorials and let us know what shows up

the engine management light will flash.... the way it flashes is then transformed into numbers.... tis all explained in the tutorial section

shows up on your dash under the speedo or rev counter. Nothing to do with the MFD

because 2 reasons....
a) its not my car
b) its most likely to be ICV, EGR, or another valve/sensor which is just knackered with age... usually is on corsa's it's their 'weak point' shall we say
that clear things up

will the paper clip test work for my trouble? As the EM light isnt always on, its just random and and scattered.

when ya turn the ignition on it heats the spark plugs and goes out then ya ignite. same problem on my missus clio,read her manual and the same symbol came up.
